At some point in our lives we have lost loved ones, family, friends, colleagues and pets. They were precious to us. We mourned and grieved but nothing will bring them back.
Memories are all we have left.
You were there for every major event in her life, cheering her on, pushing her forward and giving her the opportunity to excel. You loathed centre-stage attention and yet at the same time liked the feel of it.
Never one to miss out. You watched from the sidelines while she took the limelight to appease your hunger!
She let you believe you were helping her when in fact it was the reverse!
Oh, you both were so good for each other!
At the launch of ATGB you took delight in making yourself useful, whether it be taking photos, offering coffee, or cracking jokes, you did them all with great enthusiasm. Always with a ready smile and helping hand, you were great fun to be around.
Sad. There'll be an empty seat at the launch of her second book. It won't be half as much joy and excitement as before.
Your physical presence will be sadly missed.
She'll have to imagine you're there with your infectious smiles and cheeky winks.
But it's almost certain she'll see you enter the room and walk towards her jauntily, arms outstretched. She'll feel your warm embrace and reassuring pat on her back.
Your firm 'thumbs-Up' and words of encouragement and affirmation will continue to propel her forward.
In her mind you'll be circulating among the crowd, taking photos, serving coffee and cracking jokes...
