Lynn Wong's latest book is SMILE though your heart is ACHING. This is a much awaited book, a worthy sequel to her first book "As Time Goes By" published five years ago. Both her books are generally about life and living. They are not autobiographies.

Her first book is centred more on childhood memories and growing up pains based more on events, observations and her responses and reactions to them, with the innocence of a child. Her latest book, however, is about the adult world with its ups and downs.

It is also about fighting corporate battles.

The words she has chosen carry her thoughts succinctly. They are warm and friendly without being pretentious. The topics included in both her books cover a broad spectrum of subjects and events. Some are more hilarious and many are focused on a more serious note.

Her approach to life is spontaneous, governed by prudence and common sense. It appears lighthearted and easy. Being a keen observer, even trifles, will not escape her scrutiny. Her response to these is largely based on common sense and knowledge; laced with wisdom.

Her thoughts flow through smoothly from one idea to another and the transition is gentle, methodical, tidy and logical. Lynn's philosophy appears simple and yet very profound and thoughtful; gracious and tinged with a lot of human skills and understanding.

Her books are very personal and subjective; unique, highly perceptive, intimate and reflective. I have enjoyed reading both her books and excitedly look forward to her next one which I hope will not take too long to come to fruition.

Her artist -illustrator- is equally talented in bringing out the many encounters and experiences of the author through her drawings; depicting expressions, moods and emotions subtly and with precision. Congratulations to both of you for complementing each other perfectly!

The typography and layout is attractive and designed for easy reading. The book is available in major bookstores.

It is priced at RM27.90.

HUMAN FRAILTIES

The mind says, "Don't be stupid.  Stop acting like a fool.  You're too old for such frivolity."
The heart says, "Just do it.  You have one life, live it."

There is beauty and strength in everyone.
If only one could blind one's eyes to the flaws of human frailties, appreciate the differences and work towards a common goal, so much more can be achieved.

There are precious lessons to be learned from every trial and adversity.  If only one could view them as such, go with the flow and allow nature to take its course, so much more can be gained.

Unfortunately life dictates otherwise...

WHIRLPOOL

How to eat an elephant? One bite at a time!

How to tackle a big problem? Bit by bit; one day at a time.

Trust in God. Trust also in your God-given abilities.

Whatever challenges you might be facing right now, like everything else, these

too will soon pass...

BEACON OF HOPE

Sad relationships happen to enable us to appreciate happy ones.
Heartaches, painful as they may be, are reminders that we still have hearts that beat with life ...

FREE AT LAST ...

The truth hurts but only for a while.

Treachery, lying and hypocrisy are to be abhorred.
False friends to be avoided.
You will become the company you keep.
Pick your friends wisely and do not be tempted by fleeting pleasures.
Illusions are but illusions.

Mostly you're forced to fend for yourself.  Help is often absent when you need it the most!
Your so called friends will abandon you when 'the going isn't so good'.  This is to be expected.  You shouldn't be surprised or overly upset.  The world is not a friendly place.

Time for weeding.
Separate the chaff from the good crop.
Do not build your hope on people.  If you do, you will only be disappointed.
Not everyone is genuine.

When you hurt, you hurt alone.  But that's okay too.  Part of life.
With time and experience you'll get wise.  Make some mistakes but try not to make the same mistake twice.

Allow yourself the chance to heal.
Acceptance lessen the blow of harsh reality.
When the hurting is done, coming to terms with truth liberates.
Peace, serenity and joy that surpass understanding return.

Indeed Truth will set you free....

FEAR NOT ...

If it is not this, it will be something else.

There will always be heartache, frustration and disappointment in our lives.
We live in an imperfect world alongside imperfect people.
No point wallowing in self pity or blaming others for our misfortune.
Acceptance is good therapy.

When we're done hitting our heads against the wall and tearing our hair out, calm down and take stock.

Be of good cheer and fear not; nothing lasts forever, not even bad times!
