Former school teacher, Headmaster and educational technologist

Lynn Wong's latest book is SMILE though your heart is ACHING. This is a much awaited book, a worthy sequel to her first book "As Time Goes By" published five years ago. Both her books are generally about life and living. They are not autobiographies.

Her first book is centred more on childhood memories and growing up pains based more on events, observations and her responses and reactions to them, with the innocence of a child. Her latest book, however, is about the adult world with its ups and downs.

It is also about fighting corporate battles.

The words she has chosen carry her thoughts succinctly. They are warm and friendly without being pretentious. The topics included in both her books cover a broad spectrum of subjects and events. Some are more hilarious and many are focused on a more serious note.

Her approach to life is spontaneous, governed by prudence and common sense. It appears lighthearted and easy. Being a keen observer, even trifles, will not escape her scrutiny. Her response to these is largely based on common sense and knowledge; laced with wisdom.

Her thoughts flow through smoothly from one idea to another and the transition is gentle, methodical, tidy and logical. Lynn's philosophy appears simple and yet very profound and thoughtful; gracious and tinged with a lot of human skills and understanding.

Her books are very personal and subjective; unique, highly perceptive, intimate and reflective. I have enjoyed reading both her books and excitedly look forward to her next one which I hope will not take too long to come to fruition.

Her artist -illustrator- is equally talented in bringing out the many encounters and experiences of the author through her drawings; depicting expressions, moods and emotions subtly and with precision. Congratulations to both of you for complementing each other perfectly!

The typography and layout is attractive and designed for easy reading. The book is available in major bookstores.

It is priced at RM27.90.

HEAVEN'S DEW...

My little garden...a tiny patch of sanity...a comfort area...a place of solace and quiet...a haven. Daily I go...to see...to touch...to hear...to smell...to wait...to receive heaven's dew and earth's riches. How sweet it is to begin the day knowing that you are deeply loved, greatly blessed and highly favored.
The richness of the garden tells me so!

AMAZING LOVE

Nature's way of giving...perfect in its creation.
Pause and marvel at the beauty that surrounds us. Nature is full of awesome wonders designed by the Master Creator to delight and woo us.
"What is man that You are mindful of him ...that You should care for him!"
Amazing love, how could it be that God should die for me ...Thank you Abba Father!

PRINCE OF PEACE

Joy thieves are everywhere! They come to incite fear; steal, kill and destroy.
We live in distressing times. People say the earth is in travail.

What tremendous comfort and assurance to know that He who is in us - the Prince of Peace - is greater than he who is in the world - the prince of darkness.
Smile, God loves you!

FAITH OVER FEAR

Covid19 - well we could contribute to the panic, live in a frenzy and be frozen with fear and paranoia.
Alternatively we can choose calm; take all the necessary precautions by all means. They say Vitamin C and garlic drink save lives. Not too difficult to take heed as these are quite easily accessible and very palatable.
Oh yes, and Pray often to summon a protective shield round about us and everyone we care for. Pray also for medical personnel who are working round the clock to help victims. Bless them all.
Like everything else this too will pass.
Crackers, cheese and jam, anyone ... join me!

Life is good regardless.

MASQUERADE

Don't take yourself or others too seriously! The world is contantly changing.
Celebrate often...whether it be over big or small victories.

Don't expect perfection...that will never happen.
Cracks are good; that's how light comes in.
Puji Tuhan regardless...

"TAI TAI"

To the question of : "sooo, what do you do, now that you're retired?"
With a wicked wink, my reply: "I'm now a full time TaiTai and loving it!"
(Ahem... *TaiTai sounds more sophisticated but actually *housewife is more like it ðŸ˜‰
Immensely thankful for this new chapter in my life. Blessed and blissful.
Puji Tuhan ...

PRICEY NASI LEMAK

RM25.00 (after tax) for THAT simple no-frills serving of nasi lemak! Pricey, huh.
That's the 'surprise' of ordering food without asking, "how much?"
Looking at and appreciating value for money it serves us well to know what we're paying for! Okay, so the service was friendly and we were at a very nice premier resort kind of helped eased the 'pain' a wee bit ðŸ˜‚
Next time, ASK!

CHEONG SAM

Managed to squeeze into one of those. Didn't have the courage to wear one previously...too many unsightly bulges in the wrong places!
Then again looking at it from a different perspective there's nothing more Chinese and feminine than "cheongsam" for this occasion.
Mother would approve.

ONE MILLION RINGGIT

A novelty!
Never done this before ... a visit to the Money Tunnel at Bank Negara Museum.
A million ringgit in various denominations plastered on the wall. Now I know the feel of a million dollars! Can see but cannot take...sheeeshh!
