Lynn Wong's latest book is SMILE though your heart is ACHING. This is a much awaited book, a worthy sequel to her first book "As Time Goes By" published five years ago. Both her books are generally about life and living. They are not autobiographies.

Her first book is centred more on childhood memories and growing up pains based more on events, observations and her responses and reactions to them, with the innocence of a child. Her latest book, however, is about the adult world with its ups and downs.

It is also about fighting corporate battles.

The words she has chosen carry her thoughts succinctly. They are warm and friendly without being pretentious. The topics included in both her books cover a broad spectrum of subjects and events. Some are more hilarious and many are focused on a more serious note.

Her approach to life is spontaneous, governed by prudence and common sense. It appears lighthearted and easy. Being a keen observer, even trifles, will not escape her scrutiny. Her response to these is largely based on common sense and knowledge; laced with wisdom.

Her thoughts flow through smoothly from one idea to another and the transition is gentle, methodical, tidy and logical. Lynn's philosophy appears simple and yet very profound and thoughtful; gracious and tinged with a lot of human skills and understanding.

Her books are very personal and subjective; unique, highly perceptive, intimate and reflective. I have enjoyed reading both her books and excitedly look forward to her next one which I hope will not take too long to come to fruition.

Her artist -illustrator- is equally talented in bringing out the many encounters and experiences of the author through her drawings; depicting expressions, moods and emotions subtly and with precision. Congratulations to both of you for complementing each other perfectly!

The typography and layout is attractive and designed for easy reading. The book is available in major bookstores.

It is priced at RM27.90.

NICKI

A simple ceremony to say goodbye to our old faithful friend. Our Beagle Nicki died yesterday after a short illness. She was fourteen. In all that time we've had her she gave us little trouble. She was never demanding, fussy or aggressive. She was a happy dog and loved a good tickle! Nicki was just....Nicki. Our small grandchildren are very observant. They saw how we treated her, when she became old, sick and dying. Nicki was cared for gently with kindness, patience and dignity. I believe these are important lessons in life for the young.

We miss our old friend, each one of us grieves 😪😭😢😓 in her/his own way.
Go in peace, old girl ... thank you for all the memories.

FELLOWSHIP

To be in a relationship is good but it is far better if fellowship is present in that relationship! Very often it is not.

A relationship that is devoid of fellowship is shallow and superficial; unfulfilling and uncomfortable; callous and cruel even. It is wearisome to body, spirit and soul. We do well to work at nurturing wholesome fellowship in all our significant relationships. Life is more colourful...more meaningful...more purposeful... more joyful...when we have deeper intimacy with people who matter to us.
Blessings to one and all.

SHALOM

It's mostly in the mind! Subject our thoughts to our authority. Speak encouragement, inspiration, instruction, initiation and motivation to our minds. Pray...persuade...plead ...and pummel mind to submit to our command. Show mind we're the boss and experience the change we want to see in us!

Restful and relaxing weekend to all...choose faith over fear; happiness over anxiety; love over indifference...shalom

MYSTERY OF LOVE

Love gives one pleasure, love brings one pain. And when both are gone, love remains. Who can explain the ecstasy and mystery of love.

A buried memory was resurrected recently. At a low point in my life, it was love - agape love - that lifted me...gave me back my wings...put me on course...and propelled me beyond my fears, doubts and limitations. Freedom comes with the liberation of the mind. "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me..."
Puji Tuhan

RESTORATION

The food cover was headed for the trash bin this AM.

It had holes and other flaws in it. My honey saw me put the old thing into a plastic bag for disposal and chided me. "Why throw...just tape it up! No one else would notice. Only the flies would complain!" He was dead serious. And so it was saved. Guess what...I felt pretty good about that. Taped, it looked rather unsightly but continued to serve its purpose. Waste not, want not!

Shifting gears, I thought about certain (past and present) relationships. Outwardly not pleasing anymore...throw. Too troublesome...discard. Not agreeable ...ostracized. We tend to choose the easy way. Such a pity to trash those that could be restored and be significant once again. I wish, this year, we all could recover at least one particular relationship we had thrown away - written off ...

BELIEVE

All things are possible to those who believe!

Steer away from negative thoughts and feelings of despair, desperation, destruction and doom.
Keep listening to the right word ... chew on the good stuff ... declare victory.
Cause faith to arise. Give fear the boot! Pray often... praise God with thankfulness...trust and obey. See Him SUDDENLY bring upon you the unexpected!
God keeps His promise and delivers on time...every time!

WORTHY

Save the talk on prudence and frugality for another day! Receive with joy and gladness the affection, affirmation and approval from loved ones who applaud, admire and appreciate you. Relish the thoughtfulness and bask in the love and adoration.

You're worth it...Happy Women's Day...
