Lynn Wong's latest book is SMILE though your heart is ACHING. This is a much awaited book, a worthy sequel to her first book "As Time Goes By" published five years ago. Both her books are generally about life and living. They are not autobiographies.

Her first book is centred more on childhood memories and growing up pains based more on events, observations and her responses and reactions to them, with the innocence of a child. Her latest book, however, is about the adult world with its ups and downs.

It is also about fighting corporate battles.

The words she has chosen carry her thoughts succinctly. They are warm and friendly without being pretentious. The topics included in both her books cover a broad spectrum of subjects and events. Some are more hilarious and many are focused on a more serious note.

Her approach to life is spontaneous, governed by prudence and common sense. It appears lighthearted and easy. Being a keen observer, even trifles, will not escape her scrutiny. Her response to these is largely based on common sense and knowledge; laced with wisdom.

Her thoughts flow through smoothly from one idea to another and the transition is gentle, methodical, tidy and logical. Lynn's philosophy appears simple and yet very profound and thoughtful; gracious and tinged with a lot of human skills and understanding.

Her books are very personal and subjective; unique, highly perceptive, intimate and reflective. I have enjoyed reading both her books and excitedly look forward to her next one which I hope will not take too long to come to fruition.

Her artist -illustrator- is equally talented in bringing out the many encounters and experiences of the author through her drawings; depicting expressions, moods and emotions subtly and with precision. Congratulations to both of you for complementing each other perfectly!

The typography and layout is attractive and designed for easy reading. The book is available in major bookstores.

It is priced at RM27.90.

COMFORT

Nothing beats comfort food at any given time of the day ... or night.
Sheer joy relishing the simple pleasures in life; sharing special moments with people you love and care about.

MEANING

When we discover the "why" of our existence, it is highly possible to endure almost any "how."
Ask not so much the meaning of life but realize that life expects you to give it meaning ...

FASCINATOR

A gal can never have too many accessories!
Forget shoes and handbags. Give me a hat or .... a fascinator. I'm happy.
Always game and adventurous to try a new look!

GREAT TEAM

We make a great team, my daughter and I. We share the same core values...mutual respect, mutual trust and understanding.
Without these basic fundamentals, partnerships, alliances and relationships of any and every kind operate on shaky ground ... sinking sand.

RIGHT THINKING

Whenever I feel down, drained, discouraged and dejected, I quickly summon to mind my good friends. I usher them into my thoughts, my imagination. They enter with good vibes...full of assurance...wrapped with wisdom... dripping with compassion...overflowing with energy...patting my back...cheering me on. And gradually I'm recharged, re-fired and rightly focused.
We can never totally eliminate all the wrongs around us which include those that plague us personally. However with the right thinking, we can save ourselves from ourselves because very often our self defeating thoughts are, first and foremost, our greatest enemy.
We are indeed thankful for caring, loving and supportive friends...

CHILD OF GOD

Choose to smile rather than sulk! There's always something to be grateful for even in the worst of times.
Thanksgiving...Praise ...Worship ...will storm the gate of unbelief and unlock treasures of boundless blessings into our lives.
Happiness is a decision...fill your heart with gratitude and joy despite all that is not going right in your life presently.
Take that first bold step of faith and Just Do It, Afraid!
(A blast from the past - testament of God's goodness)

SERVE WITH LOVE

Would there be anyone in heaven who would say to you: "Thank you, I'm here because of you..."
I think that is a very meaningful consideration. Live your life to please God! It sounds corny but I like it.
Happy weekend, my dear friends

MEANING

What would life be without light... love... music...song...poetry...art...dreams...fantasy...
romance... magic...?
It would be dark...dreary...depressive and devoid of all meaning ...

CHOOSE WISELY

It is such a delight and wonderful experience when family and friends gather. Life is really about building relationships and it's especially heartwarming to see people come together in unity, love, trust, acceptance and understanding. Life is so much sweeter when we choose to encourage, inspire, motivate, edify and lift up one another. We all need to feel appreciated...affirmed...and even applauded.
We might not be able to change the world but we can surely decorate and brighten the corner where we are.
Wonderful...

FAITH IS A CHOICE

Turn a deaf ear to naysayers! Avoid those who run you down; those who snub you; those who slander you; those who swindle you.
Pray for them!
Without faith it is impossible to please God. Faith is a choice. Start with whatever little (faith) you have and cause that to arise. Delight in things of God and know His heart. Please God and favor with man will come naturally!
The Almighty will cause even your enemy to like you! Breakthroughs will come .... suddenly ... seemingly without any effort on your part.
Have faith, trust ....and obey; believe it; live it; run with it. Bless you all

DIFFERENT SEASON

There are anxious people waiting for their retirement. They've had it with the corporate madness and want out ...counting the days when they can throw in the towel!
On the other hand there's this other group of retirees who are bored to death and plead to go back to work!
For those dying to retire, I say, don't rush it! Plan towards it, please. Know what you're in for when you have all that time in your hand then.
For retirees, I would say enjoy your 'me' time. You've earned it! Live, love, laugh, eat and be happy

KING SOLOMON

Pursuing pleasure for the sake of pleasure alone is meaningless ... like chasing after the wind (Solomon)
There are desirable pleasures and there are undesirable pleasures! One way to know and differentiate them is to follow the promptings and dictates of the inborn moral compass which is present in everyone... the conscience.
We have a situation where the undesirable pleasures are mostly irresistible and therein lies the problem!!
Enjoy, by all means, the highs that derive from all associations that are pure, wholesome, inspiring, encouraging, uplifting, building and healing etc. Avoid over-indulgences that would ultimately bring remorse, shame, destruction, pain and sorrow to self and to those who matter the most to us...
