Lynn Wong's latest book is SMILE though your heart is ACHING. This is a much awaited book, a worthy sequel to her first book "As Time Goes By" published five years ago. Both her books are generally about life and living. They are not autobiographies.

Her first book is centred more on childhood memories and growing up pains based more on events, observations and her responses and reactions to them, with the innocence of a child. Her latest book, however, is about the adult world with its ups and downs.

It is also about fighting corporate battles.

The words she has chosen carry her thoughts succinctly. They are warm and friendly without being pretentious. The topics included in both her books cover a broad spectrum of subjects and events. Some are more hilarious and many are focused on a more serious note.

Her approach to life is spontaneous, governed by prudence and common sense. It appears lighthearted and easy. Being a keen observer, even trifles, will not escape her scrutiny. Her response to these is largely based on common sense and knowledge; laced with wisdom.

Her thoughts flow through smoothly from one idea to another and the transition is gentle, methodical, tidy and logical. Lynn's philosophy appears simple and yet very profound and thoughtful; gracious and tinged with a lot of human skills and understanding.

Her books are very personal and subjective; unique, highly perceptive, intimate and reflective. I have enjoyed reading both her books and excitedly look forward to her next one which I hope will not take too long to come to fruition.

Her artist -illustrator- is equally talented in bringing out the many encounters and experiences of the author through her drawings; depicting expressions, moods and emotions subtly and with precision. Congratulations to both of you for complementing each other perfectly!

The typography and layout is attractive and designed for easy reading. The book is available in major bookstores.

It is priced at RM27.90.

HUMBLE BEGINNINGS

Daughter-in-law, June Chong's pies, cookies and pastries are available all year round!

Meet Grandpa YehYeh who is the official tester to ensure quality control of June's baking products. Trust him to say it as it is. If they taste good, he'll keep silent but if they are not up to his standard...he won't minced his word!! That way June is always on her toes to ensure her bakes are always excellent. Puji Tuhan

Meanwhile YehYeh keeps himself fully occupied and finds joy and fulfilment abuzz his busyness.

🙃🙃 June now operates from a small shop which we've rented as an operation station. For the present there are no dine-in facilities but we might expand on the idea of opening a cafe later on. Lets see how far this idea can go!
She's serious about growing her bakery business and diligently learning the ropes. With thirty months of exposure and experience behind her, God willing, she'll take her passion to a new level.
Do not despise humble beginnings. Commit your plans to God and He will map the way of your success.
All praise and glory to almighty God.

AHA!

Life appears to be a complex puzzle...of small pieces that make up a complete picture!

With each encounter, experience, exposure, exploit, ex-relationships, excruciating echoes from the past; emotional deposits and withdrawals.... these are separate pieces of the puzzle that fit into the exact spot of our life journey here. For now we see in parts. Some day we will behold the complete puzzle and only then will we fully realize the significance and purpose of all that life has thrown at us...to be enlightened with that AHA moment!
Shalom...peace to one and all.

JUNE'S DELIGHT

Recent post by an appreciative customer of June's Delight...pies, cookies and pastries.

Thank you, sweet Caroline ...

"My lunch... beef stew pie from June's Delight

😊. The rest going into fridge and creamy chicken pies going into freezer so we are stocked for CNY. Together with the yummy cookies" unquote

OVER RATED

Seriously I did not enjoy this concoction one bit! There seems to be too much happening in the bowl...and too little to sing praises about.

The tau'fu'far (soya bean) didn't look or taste like it. Suppose to be branded but bland is how I'll describe this. Really nothing to shout about.

And of course it didn't help much to change my mind about this particular outlet ... what ...with unfriendly staff who went out of the way to make you feel unwelcome!  You can be sure I won't be back there any time soon.

...oh well...shutz and just swallow.

BLOWING IN THE WIND

 In a pensive mood...

It's already happening in some parts of the world...a bag of gold cannot even buy a loaf of bread! Alarming but not really surprising. Haven't we been warned?
The world we once know will never be the same. Nothing lasts forever. Taking a swing and missing is okay. Life is full of unfulfilled promises, shattered dreams and bad memories.
None of us will leave this planet alive. Let us make full and better use of our time here.
We CAN make a difference, however small, in our life time.
Tough ...but nothing worthwhile is ever easy.
Every day, every where, every way, all at once ...find a need...and meet it!

FAMILY FIRST

Good looks run in the family!

When you have a tall, dark and very charming six foot three hunk escorting two extremely eye catching mademoiselles, one on each arm, passersby are bound to stop for a second look! Don't we absolutely lurve the attention!!
Just kidding😉
Seriously though, what better way to spend an afternoon with beloved family.
Siblings bonding time ... priceless and precious.
Yes, blood is thicker than water!

HARMONY

Joy is strength; unity is power.

Silence often speaks louder than words!
Gratitude, Peace, Patience, Tolerance and Empathy keep families together in perfect harmony.
TGIF...rest, relax and recharge.

AFTERNOON TEA

So much fun setting the table for afternoon tea at home.  Greater still was the joy to spend a delightful afternoon with happy company.

No fuss...no frills...no frantic preparations...no frustrations.

Rest and relish the time with easy chatter and sweet fellowship. A truly chillaxing time ...

NaNa

Every season presents its manifold unique challenges and achievements.

I had a very satisfying and rewarding career.  My hunger to reach corporate excellence was satiated albeit by my own standards!

It still gives me that cheap thrill to be addressed as "Ms Lynn" once in awhile but that chapter has since been long closed.

In this new season, I blossom in my role as grandmama.  My grandchildren affectionately calls me NaNa ... an endearment that puts me on Cloud 9.

Even so, I believe the best is yet to come. There's still much fire left in this ole gal. Puji Tuhan.

LAMENT

Life is filled with reasons for lament and being human we are easily discouraged and overwhelmed!

"Why, oh why," our cry in despair and desperation are mostly met with eerie silence. There are no quick fix to chronic problems. Panic won't help.

Breathe deeply... stay clam... divert our thoughts... be still.

Whatever that is bugging or bothering us now will pass. Don't rush it.

What has to be learned must take its course. It'll be fine...you'll see.
