Lynn Wong's latest book is SMILE though your heart is ACHING. This is a much awaited book, a worthy sequel to her first book "As Time Goes By" published five years ago. Both her books are generally about life and living. They are not autobiographies.

Her first book is centred more on childhood memories and growing up pains based more on events, observations and her responses and reactions to them, with the innocence of a child. Her latest book, however, is about the adult world with its ups and downs.

It is also about fighting corporate battles.

The words she has chosen carry her thoughts succinctly. They are warm and friendly without being pretentious. The topics included in both her books cover a broad spectrum of subjects and events. Some are more hilarious and many are focused on a more serious note.

Her approach to life is spontaneous, governed by prudence and common sense. It appears lighthearted and easy. Being a keen observer, even trifles, will not escape her scrutiny. Her response to these is largely based on common sense and knowledge; laced with wisdom.

Her thoughts flow through smoothly from one idea to another and the transition is gentle, methodical, tidy and logical. Lynn's philosophy appears simple and yet very profound and thoughtful; gracious and tinged with a lot of human skills and understanding.

Her books are very personal and subjective; unique, highly perceptive, intimate and reflective. I have enjoyed reading both her books and excitedly look forward to her next one which I hope will not take too long to come to fruition.

Her artist -illustrator- is equally talented in bringing out the many encounters and experiences of the author through her drawings; depicting expressions, moods and emotions subtly and with precision. Congratulations to both of you for complementing each other perfectly!

The typography and layout is attractive and designed for easy reading. The book is available in major bookstores.

It is priced at RM27.90.

ANOTHER FEATHER IN THE CAP

The day has finally arrived after all effort has been made. I'm overjoyed at achieving my Doctorate. It was a difficult but wonderful journey together with my course mates.
I would like to thank my mum for all the love, support and encouragement while pursuing this programme. Heartfelt deep gratitude to Prof. Ravi for his guidance and positive inputs.

Writing this with a thankful heart... praise God!

1st STOP DUSSELDORF, COLOGNE - GERMANY

Beautiful weather here in Dusseldorf.
After breakfast we took a twenty five minute train ride to Cologne (Koln). The old buildings are superbly maintained. Explored the city a bit. Noticed there were hardly any traffic jams although it was a working day.
One of the many advantages  of travelling with a young person is you have someone who doesn't mind taking photos, lots of them!

Thanks to my indulgent, daughter Sandra I didn't have to snap away but just relax and take in the charms of the cities...

SCANDINAVIAN COUNTRIES

Everyone loves a holiday and I am no exception! This time my adventure will take me to a different part of Europe - Germany, Netherlands, Sweden, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Denmark.
Northern Lights, Whale watching, The Blue Lagoon, romantic cruise on the river Rhein are some of the activities planned.
Feeling pretty excited, experiencing the reality of God's promise.
1. Overflowing abundance
2. Supernatural health and healing
3. RESTORATION of ALL that was lost
Setbacks that were actually setups for blessings! Such epic breakthroughs! Awestruck each time I see His Hand at work. Thank you, God!

CRUISE PART 3

On board the ship you get to meet many people from different countries. That presents a good opportunity to make new friends and exchange cultures. In the relaxed atmosphere people tend to  be more chatty and willing to spend a little more time for small talk. This could be quite pleasurable if it's your thing! Otherwise you can choose to lose yourself to the many activities planned or settled for a ..... ermmmmm ..... nice movie under the star studded sky on the highest deck of the ship.
We did that and it was absolutely enjoyable. Vodka in hand and several huge pizzas made the experience even more pleasurable...

It's still about food.
Is it any wonder that we have a thickened waistline to show for the indulgence at the end of the holiday...  Chomp! Chomp! Chomp

CRUISE PART 2

Initially I was skeptical about taking a holiday on the high sea.  Fear of sea sickness, boredom, accident blah blah blah. Titanic the movie was still fresh in my mind. It was a mistake to watch it on the long flight to Rome (thirteen hours plus 3 hours in transit) to board the Ms Koningsdam (Holland America Line)! The tragic end of the massive ship compounded my jitters. Aaaah but that's just a show!
All taken into account the romantic heartwarming part of the Titanic story was worth the watch.

The minute we arrived at the HUGE ship and shown our luxurious stateroom, all my fears were erased as the ship was fully equipped with EVERYTHING. Boredom gone; no sea sickness throughout the entire cruise.
They even have doctors on board and a well stocked pharmacy to boot.
Entertainment which included live performances of international standard, casinos, fine dining, spas, movie cinemas, shopping, culinary classes etc etc. The list of activities was endless.

Needless to say we had a whale of a time. This may be my first cruise but it certainly won't be my last....
