Lynn Wong's latest book is SMILE though your heart is ACHING. This is a much awaited book, a worthy sequel to her first book "As Time Goes By" published five years ago. Both her books are generally about life and living. They are not autobiographies.
Her first book is centred more on childhood memories and growing up pains based more on events, observations and her responses and reactions to them, with the innocence of a child. Her latest book, however, is about the adult world with its ups and downs.
It is also about fighting corporate battles.
The words she has chosen carry her thoughts succinctly. They are warm and friendly without being pretentious. The topics included in both her books cover a broad spectrum of subjects and events. Some are more hilarious and many are focused on a more serious note.
Her approach to life is spontaneous, governed by prudence and common sense. It appears lighthearted and easy. Being a keen observer, even trifles, will not escape her scrutiny. Her response to these is largely based on common sense and knowledge; laced with wisdom.
Her thoughts flow through smoothly from one idea to another and the transition is gentle, methodical, tidy and logical. Lynn's philosophy appears simple and yet very profound and thoughtful; gracious and tinged with a lot of human skills and understanding.
Her books are very personal and subjective; unique, highly perceptive, intimate and reflective. I have enjoyed reading both her books and excitedly look forward to her next one which I hope will not take too long to come to fruition.
Her artist -illustrator- is equally talented in bringing out the many encounters and experiences of the author through her drawings; depicting expressions, moods and emotions subtly and with precision. Congratulations to both of you for complementing each other perfectly!
The typography and layout is attractive and designed for easy reading. The book is available in major bookstores.
It is priced at RM27.90.

NEW BEGINNING ...
There was never a dull moment. In looking back, I realized that I've achieved more in the last 12 months than I have in the past 12 years!
'Spring cleaning' is good, crucial!
It removes a lot of unnecessary clutter, physically as well as psychologically.
Re-arranging my priorities, discarding excessive emotional baggage, putting people in the right perspective and keeping life simple certainly can make the difference.
2013 is full of promise...and potential.
I am ready to embrace all that the New Year has to offer.

WILD, FRENZY AND DANGEROUS RIDE ...
Never despise the youths.
I am more than proud of you. I envy you. Wish I had your guts when I was your age.
You're ahead of your time doing stuff I can only imagine and dream about. You're bold, brash, beautiful and brilliant. The world is at your feet. The sky is the limit. You're the 'never say die' generation. The dizzy speed at which you're going is mind boggling but exciting and exhilarating.
I couldn't stop you even if I wanted to.
Why should I?
More than anything, I'd like a part in your success story. I care not if the going is a dangerous roller-coaster ride, wild and frenzy.
Take me with you ... woo hooooooo

CELEBRATE LIFE
Stoke the fire in you with creativity, panache and daring.
Use your distinctive style.
Be bold, be brash, be brilliant.
Sing out of tune, act out of character; be silly, be shocking even!
Who cares anyway but ... you'll get there if you are adamant about getting more out of life.

WHAT A DIFFERENCE A YEAR MAKES ...
I wouldn't want to turn back the clock. Everything that has happened in the last twelve months was for a reason. I don't always understand and despite my incessant questioning, there is silence. Fine.
"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."
"All things work together for good to those who love the Lord and are called according to His purpose."
Despite the various (big and small) challenges, I confess the scale was still tipped in my favor for 2012. I'm ready to wager that 2013 will again be MY year ... and YOURS too!

WISDOM AND DISCERNMENT
A mortar board symbolises some academic achievement and it is to be applauded but it doesn't mean the absence of one denotes a person of lesser capabilities. Not everyone (who craves) is given fair opportunity for higher learning and this is most unfortunate.
Wisdom and discernment are not acquired inside the classroom alone. The graduation robe does not guarantee isolation from failures, hard knocks and disappointments and these will surely descend on you as part of life!

IF I WANT TO
I could smile more
I could hope you'll love me and even if you don't I could still love you if I want to.
All I need to do is close my eyes and imagine a better world if I want to and I do.
(Nothing like a glass -or two or three- of Stella Artois to put matters in the right perspective....Cheers! ... hicccuuuuppp)

TAKING THE 'PLUNGE'
Life can get pretty rough, tough and unbearable at times.
And unfortunately we can lose control of our good sense in a moment of hopelessness and destitute, no matter how strong we are otherwise.
How easy to just take the 'plunge' and end it all.
How many innocent lives have been lost...
It's a split second thing, life and death.

THE BEST OF ME
This to improve and enhance the quality of her life.
And if that was not enough very often I use my own money to reward staff who performed above my expectation or as an incentive for improvement or simply because the staff needed financial help.
Whether appreciated or scorned for what I did don't bother me much. I follow my heart.
I'm very glad I went the extra mile for the ladies in my company and gave each one of them the best of me...

ILLUSION OF PERFECTION
Perfect lovers, perfect bodies, perfect homes, perfect lives!
In reality love is tough,
It is a choice to be patient, kind, gentle and compassionate.
Able to say, "I love you despite your faults and my complaints."
Oh, what joy to give and receive such love...
