Lynn Wong's latest book is SMILE though your heart is ACHING. This is a much awaited book, a worthy sequel to her first book "As Time Goes By" published five years ago. Both her books are generally about life and living. They are not autobiographies.
Her first book is centred more on childhood memories and growing up pains based more on events, observations and her responses and reactions to them, with the innocence of a child. Her latest book, however, is about the adult world with its ups and downs.
It is also about fighting corporate battles.
The words she has chosen carry her thoughts succinctly. They are warm and friendly without being pretentious. The topics included in both her books cover a broad spectrum of subjects and events. Some are more hilarious and many are focused on a more serious note.
Her approach to life is spontaneous, governed by prudence and common sense. It appears lighthearted and easy. Being a keen observer, even trifles, will not escape her scrutiny. Her response to these is largely based on common sense and knowledge; laced with wisdom.
Her thoughts flow through smoothly from one idea to another and the transition is gentle, methodical, tidy and logical. Lynn's philosophy appears simple and yet very profound and thoughtful; gracious and tinged with a lot of human skills and understanding.
Her books are very personal and subjective; unique, highly perceptive, intimate and reflective. I have enjoyed reading both her books and excitedly look forward to her next one which I hope will not take too long to come to fruition.
Her artist -illustrator- is equally talented in bringing out the many encounters and experiences of the author through her drawings; depicting expressions, moods and emotions subtly and with precision. Congratulations to both of you for complementing each other perfectly!
The typography and layout is attractive and designed for easy reading. The book is available in major bookstores.
It is priced at RM27.90.

DISTINCT STYLE
However, I've developed my own distinctive style which I'm comfortable in. Dress sensibly, of course, but add a dash of flamboyance on occasions. Doesn't hurt anybody.
As we mature it takes more effort and creativity to have a look that works for us. I've found mine ....happy me.
CORPORATE
After all as they say, 'It is not what but who you know that matters!'
Rode in chauffeur driven cars; enjoyed extended power lunches; dressed in business suits paired with 4-inch stilettos. The authority to hire and fire!
Yep, loved my job and the people I worked with even more; relished the adrenalin rush when we secured a huge project and earned good revenue. For sure, work was satisfying and rewarding. But there were bad times too. Those were the days.
Glad to have been a part of the corporate scene with its many ups and downs. Equally glad to be out of the rat race now! Starting a new chapter and loving it ...
MERE EXISTENCE
I begin to ponder, What IS the real meaning of life? Is this not the very core issue...dilemma... predicament that confuses and consumes us, young and old today? A complex, conflicting and controversial question even for great minds; nonetheless one which we must all eventually, face up to.
In the pursuit of meaning in my own life I draw on the rich experience and wisdom from Viktor E. Frankl who wrote: Since Auschwitz we know what man is capable of.
And since Hiroshima we know what is at stake.
Unquote.
Deep .....
SELFIE
Silly? Yea, oh well, no one's watching!
ANNIVERSARY
We aren't always lovey-dovey. Infact what we have is very much a love-hate relationship. In some instances and on many occasions, I confess, there are more feelings of hate (resentment, annoyances, anger, blame) than love (admiration, respect, affirmation, trust) between us!! I suspect most couples have the same experience in varying degrees!
We shouldn't expect perfection from two people who are still very much 'work in progress.'
So it's okay ... we try 'not to let the sun go down on our anger' - in other words we don't go to bed angry!
Be patient with each other; tolerant too; smiles help! Live and let live and a lot of problems and challenges can be solved eventually.
I'm still learning and although it has taken like forever I'm glad - we're glad - to be making headway in the right direction...
Thank you, God.
Happy Anniversary to us!
LESSON
See that lone fruit ripening sweetly; well, that's for my pleasure and enjoyment. Rather than die barren and defeated, it wants to go with fanfare and aplomb! I like it ...I like the spirit!
I, too, would like to have that 'fighting spirit.'
When I go, I want to be bearing fruit still till my last breath. Oh yes, Bless the Lord O'my soul ...

PROVERBS
A happy heart makes the face cheerful but heartache crushes the spirit..."
Nuggets of wisdom contained in the Book of Proverbs (Old Testament) written by King Solomon more than two thousand years ago ... yet still true and applicable today.
Pursue, love and embrace Wisdom.
With that comes longevity...prosperity... honor.
REJOICE
Praise God! His love endureth forever!
Rejoice in the Lord always and again I say rejoice...REJOICE .
HIBISCUS
Delightfully fresh blooms displayed in an orderly fashion. I couldn't have done a better job with the arrangement...really nice.
VICTORY OVER DEPRESSION
I believe everyone goes through dark periods of utter despair, desperation, defenselessness and desolation; for some even to the point of suicide. It's torturous! I know...I've been there. Thankfully, I was delivered but realized that one time deliverance is no guarantee that the demon of depression will not return.
Control your mind; guard your heart. Focus on your purpose and meaning in life.
Every time a negative or pessimistic thought threaten to engulf and overwhelm us, counter that with an attitude of optimism and positivity. I tell myself repeatedly that "all things work together for good to those who love God and are called according to His purpose." Replay this promise over and over again ...unceasingly in my mind and speak it out until some measure of relief comes. For me this exercise, together with some other self help remedies, work together to restore some semblance of order and balance in life.
We live to fight another day!
Develop your own defense mechanism, become an overcomer - a victor - and don't let depression get the better of you.
We're with you, cheering you on!

FIXER
Our pain is His pain... Our hurts grieve Him.
This is not a Sunday sermon! I know this to be true from experience.
We can smile even when there's little to smile about.
I am excited! I see Him perform miracles in hopeless situations. Awestruck at how He brings about the great reversal of appalling situations. He is always behind the scene arranging things to our favor.
The next time you feel like throwing in the towel, remember there is God...and He is for you. Blessed and blissful ...

COMFORT
Sheer joy relishing the simple pleasures in life; sharing special moments with people you love and care about.
MEANING
Ask not so much the meaning of life but realize that life expects you to give it meaning ...
FASCINATOR
Forget shoes and handbags. Give me a hat or .... a fascinator. I'm happy.
Always game and adventurous to try a new look!
GREAT TEAM
Without these basic fundamentals, partnerships, alliances and relationships of any and every kind operate on shaky ground ... sinking sand.

RIGHT THINKING
We can never totally eliminate all the wrongs around us which include those that plague us personally. However with the right thinking, we can save ourselves from ourselves because very often our self defeating thoughts are, first and foremost, our greatest enemy.
We are indeed thankful for caring, loving and supportive friends...

CHILD OF GOD
Thanksgiving...Praise ...Worship ...will storm the gate of unbelief and unlock treasures of boundless blessings into our lives.
Happiness is a decision...fill your heart with gratitude and joy despite all that is not going right in your life presently.
Take that first bold step of faith and Just Do It, Afraid!
(A blast from the past - testament of God's goodness)
SERVE WITH LOVE
I think that is a very meaningful consideration. Live your life to please God! It sounds corny but I like it.
Happy weekend, my dear friends
MEANING
romance... magic...?
It would be dark...dreary...depressive

CHOOSE WISELY
We might not be able to change the world but we can surely decorate and brighten the corner where we are.
Wonderful...
FAITH IS A CHOICE
Pray for them!
Without faith it is impossible to please God. Faith is a choice. Start with whatever little (faith) you have and cause that to arise. Delight in things of God and know His heart. Please God and favor with man will come naturally!
The Almighty will cause even your enemy to like you! Breakthroughs will come .... suddenly ... seemingly without any effort on your part.
Have faith, trust ....and obey; believe it; live it; run with it. Bless you all
DIFFERENT SEASON
On the other hand there's this other group of retirees who are bored to death and plead to go back to work!
For those dying to retire, I say, don't rush it! Plan towards it, please. Know what you're in for when you have all that time in your hand then.
For retirees, I would say enjoy your 'me' time. You've earned it! Live, love, laugh, eat and be happy
KING SOLOMON
There are desirable pleasures and there are undesirable pleasures! One way to know and differentiate them is to follow the promptings and dictates of the inborn moral compass which is present in everyone... the conscience.
We have a situation where the undesirable pleasures are mostly irresistible and therein lies the problem!!
Enjoy, by all means, the highs that derive from all associations that are pure, wholesome, inspiring, encouraging, uplifting, building and healing etc. Avoid over-indulgences that would ultimately bring remorse, shame, destruction, pain and sorrow to self and to those who matter the most to us...

CHEERFUL DISPOSITION
Serve with a cheerful spirit, willing heart and friendly face. SMILE!
We have different gifts and talents. Bury them and these will be lost forever. Use our talents to bless and they will multiply.
He who refreshes others will himself be refreshed! Every deed of kindness and service rendered will be returned in good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over...(Luke 6:38)
AFFIRMATION
As often as we would love to hear this, the people who matter the most to us, need desperately to be affirmed in a similar manner. Don't assume they know. Tell them .... tell them ... show them 💟💗💖💝 ... show them. Sometimes what we say or don't say; what we do or don't do, can make a world of difference... for good or bad.
ACTIVE LIFE
It makes perfect sense therefore, to stay abreast, engaged, interested, enthusiastic and active! Plan for the day when you no longer have 'to go to the office.' Your feelings and emotions will take a beating as well. People who once sought you out, (due to your position) will look the other way because suddenly you've become unimportant; insignificant. That's reality. Be prepared for retirement.
The last thing we want is to become an irrelevant relic.
OUCH!!
GRATEFUL HEART
Indeed life is fleeting but given the choice to turn back the clock, I wouldn't risk it. Life is certainly not perfect now but it could be much worse. Give thanks at all times and in all circumstances...
4 Ps
It can't get any better than that! All glory to God.
Puji Tuhan!
PILGRIMAGE TO THE HOLY LAND
You might very well get your 'burning bush' experience just like Moses did ...meeting and talking with God face to face.
Awesome!

FOODIE
Meals need not always be expensive and we shouldn't have to blow our budget. There're so many choices of food - an expansive array of Western, Asian, Mexican, Middle Eastern etc - and with some thought and planning, meal time can provide us a gastronomical adventure, every time.
All said it is wise to remember: Eat to live and not live to eat!!
Enjoy...
THE US OF A
Had I taken up the offer to move to the United States of America almost forty years ago, I wonder what my life would or could have become 🤔 Guess this will always remain a mystery ...
Pictured with possibly the most influential two persons in my young adulthood - my first mentor, boss, spiritual leader; evangelist Rev. Dr. David Hock Tey, who recently celebrated his 80th birthday in the US, and his wife Mary Tey.
