Lynn Wong's latest book is SMILE though your heart is ACHING. This is a much awaited book, a worthy sequel to her first book "As Time Goes By" published five years ago. Both her books are generally about life and living. They are not autobiographies.

Her first book is centred more on childhood memories and growing up pains based more on events, observations and her responses and reactions to them, with the innocence of a child. Her latest book, however, is about the adult world with its ups and downs.

It is also about fighting corporate battles.

The words she has chosen carry her thoughts succinctly. They are warm and friendly without being pretentious. The topics included in both her books cover a broad spectrum of subjects and events. Some are more hilarious and many are focused on a more serious note.

Her approach to life is spontaneous, governed by prudence and common sense. It appears lighthearted and easy. Being a keen observer, even trifles, will not escape her scrutiny. Her response to these is largely based on common sense and knowledge; laced with wisdom.

Her thoughts flow through smoothly from one idea to another and the transition is gentle, methodical, tidy and logical. Lynn's philosophy appears simple and yet very profound and thoughtful; gracious and tinged with a lot of human skills and understanding.

Her books are very personal and subjective; unique, highly perceptive, intimate and reflective. I have enjoyed reading both her books and excitedly look forward to her next one which I hope will not take too long to come to fruition.

Her artist -illustrator- is equally talented in bringing out the many encounters and experiences of the author through her drawings; depicting expressions, moods and emotions subtly and with precision. Congratulations to both of you for complementing each other perfectly!

The typography and layout is attractive and designed for easy reading. The book is available in major bookstores.

It is priced at RM27.90.

FAITH IS A CHOICE

Turn a deaf ear to naysayers! Avoid those who run you down; those who snub you; those who slander you; those who swindle you.
Pray for them!
Without faith it is impossible to please God. Faith is a choice. Start with whatever little (faith) you have and cause that to arise. Delight in things of God and know His heart. Please God and favor with man will come naturally!
The Almighty will cause even your enemy to like you! Breakthroughs will come .... suddenly ... seemingly without any effort on your part.
Have faith, trust ....and obey; believe it; live it; run with it. Bless you all

DIFFERENT SEASON

There are anxious people waiting for their retirement. They've had it with the corporate madness and want out ...counting the days when they can throw in the towel!
On the other hand there's this other group of retirees who are bored to death and plead to go back to work!
For those dying to retire, I say, don't rush it! Plan towards it, please. Know what you're in for when you have all that time in your hand then.
For retirees, I would say enjoy your 'me' time. You've earned it! Live, love, laugh, eat and be happy

KING SOLOMON

Pursuing pleasure for the sake of pleasure alone is meaningless ... like chasing after the wind (Solomon)
There are desirable pleasures and there are undesirable pleasures! One way to know and differentiate them is to follow the promptings and dictates of the inborn moral compass which is present in everyone... the conscience.
We have a situation where the undesirable pleasures are mostly irresistible and therein lies the problem!!
Enjoy, by all means, the highs that derive from all associations that are pure, wholesome, inspiring, encouraging, uplifting, building and healing etc. Avoid over-indulgences that would ultimately bring remorse, shame, destruction, pain and sorrow to self and to those who matter the most to us...

CHEERFUL DISPOSITION

It's surely more fun working in a team...everyone lending his/her expertise...making the task light and easy.
Serve with a cheerful spirit, willing heart and friendly face. SMILE!
We have different gifts and talents. Bury them and these will be lost forever. Use our talents to bless and they will multiply.
He who refreshes others will himself be refreshed! Every deed of kindness and service rendered will be returned in good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over...(Luke 6:38)

AFFIRMATION

One of the nicest things anyone can say to another is: "you're the best thing that has ever happened to me!"
As often as we would love to hear this, the people who matter the most to us, need desperately to be affirmed in a similar manner. Don't assume they know. Tell them .... tell them ... show them 💟💗💖💝 ... show them. Sometimes what we say or don't say; what we do or don't do, can make a world of difference... for good or bad.

ACTIVE LIFE

Retirement is still regarded by most as a death sentence; a taboo. Very demoralizing indeed.
It makes perfect sense therefore, to stay abreast, engaged, interested, enthusiastic and active! Plan for the day when you no longer have 'to go to the office.' Your feelings and emotions will take a beating as well. People who once sought you out, (due to your position) will look the other way because suddenly you've become unimportant; insignificant. That's reality. Be prepared for retirement.
The last thing we want is to become an irrelevant relic.

OUCH!!

GRATEFUL HEART

A stark reminder that 'time and tide wait for no man!'
Indeed life is fleeting but given the choice to turn back the clock, I wouldn't risk it. Life is certainly not perfect now but it could be much worse. Give thanks at all times and in all circumstances...

4 Ps

A life of Praise ... Passion ... Purpose ... Prominence.
It can't get any better than that! All glory to God.
Puji Tuhan!

PILGRIMAGE TO THE HOLY LAND

Eleven years ago, in Israel, where I fell in love in the old city of Jerusalem. There's something inexplicable about the magical allure and charm of the Holy Land. My life has never been the same again after that significant pilgrimage. If you have the chance GO and experience for yourself.
You might very well get your 'burning bush' experience just like Moses did ...meeting and talking with God face to face.

Awesome!

FOODIE

The need and love for food is inborn in most of us! Fellowship with food is well received. Power lunch has long been practised successfully by seasoned corporate players.
Meals need not always be expensive and we shouldn't have to blow our budget. There're so many choices of food - an expansive array of Western, Asian, Mexican, Middle Eastern etc - and with some thought and planning, meal time can provide us a gastronomical adventure, every time.
All said it is wise to remember: Eat to live and not live to eat!!
Enjoy...
